Aims of the Club

The BFRC exists to promote rifle shooting in all three positions at 10M, 50M and 300M.  It was founded in 1958 to enable top performers to compete internationally under the International Shooting Union (now International Sport Shooting Federation).  This role has now been taken on by the NSRA and the home countries ( Scotland , Wales , and England ).

The club has no facilities of it's own.  BFRC members come from all over the UK and Isle of Man.  The Club organizes competitions at Bisley in the Lord Roberts Range for 10 metre air rifle, 50 metre prone and three positions, and on the Century range for 300 metre prone and three positions.  It also organizes postal competitions where members send in shot cards from their home range for scoring.

The annual dinner takes place within the Spring competition weekend.   The AGM is held during the Bisley smallbore national championship in August.

The BFRC does provide regional coaching for groups where there is sufficient interest.  At present it is updating information on open competitions abroad that members may wish to attend.  As a national club, the BFRC can be listed as members origin when shooting abroad.
